Connecting your WhatsApp number

Before you begin

You need two things before connecting:

• A dedicated phone number: one that is not already active in the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app. A spare SIM works. You cannot use your personal WhatsApp number.
• A Facebook account: Meta will guide you through creating a free Business account during the flow if you don't have one yet.

Connecting

1. In your Gravote dashboard, go to Settings → Channels.
2. Click Connect WhatsApp. A Meta pop-up will open.
3. Log in with your Facebook account and follow the guided steps. Meta will ask you to create a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and verify your phone number via OTP.
4. Once the pop-up closes, your dashboard will update to show Connected.

Gravote receives your phone_number_id and access token from Meta. All messages sent to your connected number now flow through Gravote's bot.

Display name approval

Until Meta approves your WhatsApp display name, customers see your raw phone number as the sender. Display name approval typically takes 1 to 3 business days. You can check and submit your display name at Meta's WhatsApp Manager.

Conversation limits

Unverified accounts are limited to 250 unique customer conversations per day. To remove this cap, complete Meta Business Verification. In Nigeria this typically requires your CAC registration documents.
